Brenda A. Robertson-Harford was born on December 19, 1964 in Chesapeake, Virginia. After completing her primary education in the Chesapeake public schools, Brenda began her academic footprints at Lenoir-Rhyne College, where she earned a scholarship. Two months after graduating from college, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Richard N. Harford, and they have remained joined together for 38 years.
She was the first female in the history of Great Bridge High School, to receive a full basketball scholarship from Lenoir-Rhyne College (University). Brenda A. Robertson also became the All-time Leading Scorer in the history of Girl’s Basketball at Great Bridge! This is a record that continues to stand after forty years.
Brenda received a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Lenoir-Rhyne College (University) in 1987. After several years in restaurant and retail management, she followed her true calling to teach and encourage young students to excel in academics, in a nurturing and safe environment. Ten years later, she continued her higher education at Norfolk State University, in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1997, where she received a master of arts degree in Urban Education. Mrs. Harford entered the field of education as a Teacher, then an Educational Counselor, and later soared to the position of School Principal.
She has served on countless church organizations over the years, with the most notable being her impact and influence with the youth department, mentor programs, and women’s ministries. Brenda has been called on to minister in many capacities: proclaiming God’s word; worship leader; Christian comedian, and motivational speaker. Indeed, she has a great sense of humor and loves making people laugh. Her infectious spirit of laughter and joy is evidence of God’s goodness and favor!
In 2009 Brenda became a business owner. She sold her Harley Davidson, “Road King” to have the start-up money for her business. She started “Whole-ly” Rollers Bakery as a home business, but in 2012, as the demand for her rolls increased exponentially, she retired from the school system and became a full-time baker. In 2013 she began selling her rolls at farmer’s markets, but in 2016 she opened her first brick and mortar store-front. Not long after, she added her mother’s mouth-watering sweet potato pie, which people are raving over; and then the cinnamon buns with buttercream icing; as well as many other customer favorites. “Whole-ly” Rollers Bakery is known all over the Hampton Roads area in Virginia and beyond; with thousands of social media followers and happy customers!
Her current passion is to get America Lit and to Make America Godly Again. To share the love of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and uplift one another. To embrace love and extinguish hate. We know that with the Lord our God on Brenda’s side, she can do all of these things through Christ, who gives her strength.
